Now we are moving
Okay, I have moved some aesthetics discussion here. You may leave whatever comments seem appropriate. I don’t think I was able to move the old comments over. But I might just go get them and put them in by hand, since there were not so many.

What’s new
Nothing much, I still have not moved anything here. But I still plan to move the aesthetics discussion here. In anticipation, I have added an aesthetics category.
Forgot my password
Okay, I forgot my password for some time, but I got it back now. So, here we go. The garden is pretty much done. I have decided to consider my entire yard my garden, and just forage for things.
Caterpillars
Caterpillars are invading the turnip greens. Though I am not too concerned, since they don’t seem to be spreading, and I was not too happy with the outcome of the turnips. I don’t know what they are, sort of fuzzy and about 3/4 inch long. Doing a good job of eating the greens. I think sometime on the weekend, I will be removing the green beans and the turnips and planting something. I don’t know what. Maybe watermelons?
Or some cucumbers. I don’t really remember what seeds I have. It is too soon for the fall planting of lettuce, etc.
Anyway, I will try to get some pictures of the animals, and the plants.
I spend some time yesterday pulling weeds. But not much has changed.
End of June
Things are getting a little raggedy. The squash, I think, got overshadowed by the tomatoes, and maybe each other. I probably should have spaced everything out a little bit more. I got too much involved in the “square foot” mentality. Also the trees around the plot have grown a bit since I last tried the garden here, and there may be less sunlight that there used to be.
However, there is lots of heat. The carrots are nevertheless still growing good.
And I picked a pepper the other day. Kathy thought it was a green bean, and can confirm that the cayenne is hot. I don’t know exactly how big the pepper is supposed to get, but this one was about 2.5″ or so. It looked real nice.
The eggplant is continuing to grow.
We have been eating an occasional strawberry. My dreams of producing pesto from the basil is still a ways off. Something has been eating the basil plants at night, but I am hoping that the plants will be able to outgrow this. And that seems to be happening.
The onions are small, but some are withstanding the heat (90 degrees plus most days). The thunderstorms also take a toll, knocking everthing over.
My plan is to find a new planting location, but also to expand the one I have and try some watermelons. I don’t knwo if it is too late, but maybe not. Or possibly some cucumbers.
